Hubbard & Craven's: Ethiopia Hambela

Hubbard & Craven's: Indianapolis, IN

Had a chance to try H&C's Ethiopia Hambela on their Clover machine (11th one ever made). It was a super unique coffee and I fell in love with it. Picked up a half pound to brew up over the next couple of weeks. When I looked for coffee from this specific estate I noticed that roasters like Onyx, Topeca & Klatch among a few others have managed to get this stuff as well. It is Direct Trade and although it is a bit spendier than your average cup ($23/lb), I think it is absolutely worth it. It is a natural processed coffee and the flavor is just unreal. Floral, fruity & super juicy. Almost a raspberry profile. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. I learned that H&C has been around since the 80's and they roast all their own stuff and their beans are direct trade. Alesha, my barista there was super nice and she gave me the lowdown. She was friendly and due to a bit of a delay with my coffee, she threw in a free affagato, which was spectacular. If you find yourself in Indianapolis, head down to the Broad Ripple neighborhood, take a stroll and get yourself a cup!
