Peruvian Food in Rhode Island?

Yes, indeed!

We visited this place last year around this time and it was our first time in. We were looking for a place to grab an A+ meal and lets just say that Providence (Rhode Island) isn't really known for their food scene. We came upon "Los Andes Restaurant" and it was ranked #1 on most of our searches. I'm usually hesitant of going to the #1 ranked location because depending on our location, sometimes the #1 place is TGI Friday's...enough said. We pulled up and noticed complimentary valet which was pretty odd considering the neighborhood. The area looked pretty sketchy and not an area I'd want to be when the sun went down. Just kind of dumpy. From the exterior, this place looked like it fit right into the neighborhood. Dumpy, old, basic and effortless. Then we walked inside...

We entered a whole new world. The place was hustlin and bustlin. You could feel the energy immediately. A huge aquarium served as the backdrop to the bar and we walked up to check in and grab a table. Right off the bat, the staff were treating us like royalty. We were seated and our server must have thought we were world dignitaries. Probably not but it definitely felt that way. So polite and extremely hospitable, it was great! We looked over the menu and saw things that we normally see at Peruvian joints like Chicha Morada, Chulpe, Ceviche, Lomo Saltado, etc. We put in our orders and it wasn't long before they started presenting us with these beautiful looking dishes. We were equally impressed with the prices. With this service, this interior and food presented at this level, we were confused by the affordability. We weren't complaining though! Everything was so beyond our expectations, we were so hyped! Adrienne & I found ourselves in Rhode Island again for work this year and re-visiting this place was a no-brainer. Another successful dining experience. How they train these people to be so attentive, quick and friendly, I have no idea but I really appreciate it. Highly recommend going out of your way if you have to and get a slot booked here, you will not regret it.

Recommendations: Ceviche, Paella, Pollo Envuelto, Lomo Saltado.
